OUR FEATURED SERVICES
OUR FEATURED SERVICES
Integrative medicine is a holistic approach to medicine that treats the patient as a whole, instead of just their symptoms. This practice uses several different treatments and methodologies to help facilitate the body’s natural healing abilities.
What is integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine is a holistic approach to medicine that takes into account the lifestyle and habits of a patient. The physician works to treat the whole person rather than just the symptoms or disease. To promote well-being and healing, the body, mind, and soul of a patient are taken into consideration.
To diagnose and treat a patient, integrative medicine uses a combination of modern healthcare practices. Treatments may include procedures such as acupuncture, yoga, or massage. To curb factors related to obesity and diabetes, this medical practice also focuses on the nutritional and exercise habits of the patient. Integrative medicine physicians believe poor lifestyle choices are the root cause of many modern chronic diseases and that these diseases can be treated, prevented and healed by implementing the proper lifestyle changes.

What is the difference between integrative and functional medicine?
Functional medicine comprises much of the same practice of Integrative medicine but also employs a systems-oriented approach to medicine that functions to recognize and understand the specific underlying causes of a disease. As each patient care plan is distinct and unique, this discipline takes into account the personalization of healthcare. The relationship between patient and practitioner constructively becomes a partnership as every aspect of a patient’s medical history is reviewed in great detail. Much the same as integrative medicine, functional medicine treats the individual rather than the symptoms of the disease. Often, environmental and individual genetic research is conducted to obtain an extensive knowledge of the patient’s health status.
Understanding the biochemical individuality of a patient can lead to the underlying causes of disease in addition to the prevention of additional health risks in the future. Functional Medicine has gained much popularity in recent years. Personalized medicine is certainly the future model of medical care.

Although integrative medicine and functional medicine have many similarities, there is an important distinction. While both practices focus on supporting the patient as a whole, functional medicine endeavors to determine the root cause of every disease, in particular chronic diseases such as obesity and diabetes, as well as diseases related to the cardiovascular and autoimmune systems. Functional Medicine practitioners dive deep into the patient’s history and biochemistry and ask why this patient is ill, rather than simply making a diagnosis and then determining which drugs or surgery will best treat the condition. Functional medicine is highly personalized for each individual and often includes a comprehensive examination of an individual’s genetic makeup
OUR TREATED CONDITIONS
Am I a good candidate for integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine can be applied to help you if you are suffering from chronic pain conditions, such as:
Arthritis and Joint Pain – Arthritis and joint problems are among the most common causes of chronic pain. Their degenerative nature means that the pain only gets worse as you age. Integrative medicine can help you stay ahead of age-related disease and to facilitate healing.
Back Pain – Injuries, spinal stress, and disc degeneration are all major causes of chronic back pain. Integrative medicine can target the damaged areas and help attenuate pain associated with compressed nerves and aging discs.
Plantar Fasciitis – Plantar fasciitis is caused by inflamed, torn or stretched ligaments in the bottom of your foot. Walking, running, and standing for long periods of time can put stress on your feet. Integrative medicine can help alleviate pain and facilitate healing.
